This series of mini workshops explores Complementary Therapies and their uses.
The workshops are ideal for those who want to use therapies in their day to day life but do not want to do a full professional course. It also provides information and insight for those who may be considering a full time diploma but would like to explore choices of therapy and try out techniques first - a great opportunity at just £20 per workshop!

The workshops are designed to be relaxed, fun and informative. Participants will have the chance to both try out and receive mini treatments from each discipline covered and will have a clear understanding of how they can use the simple techniques themselves and with family.
Every session will include a little theory followed by demonstrations and participant practice.
Reflexology: 6-8pm, Thursday 27 April 2017
The feet represent all of the organs of the body and reflexologists systematically apply pressure to thousands of precise pressure points in order to restore balance and health. During this session you will learn how the feet can be mapped and manipulated to relieve common problems.
EMMETT Technique: 6-8pm, Thursday 11 May 2017
This technique is a unique muscle release system using light finger pressure to ease pain, discomfort, distress and restriction to restore movement/function. This gentle treatment can be used on babies, children and the elderly, including those with chronic and acute health problems.
Aromatherapy: 6-8pm, Wednesday 24 May 2017
Aromatherapy is the controlled use of natural plant essences called essential oils. Each oil has its own complex chemical structure and unique aroma. During the session you will try six commonly used oils and learn how to safely use them around the home and in a simple hand massage.
Holistic Body Massage: 6-8pm, Wednesday 14 June 2017
To include body massage and Indian Head Massage. Based in Ayurvedic medicine, Indian Head Massage has been used for thousands of years. You will learn how to apply pressure and special massage techniques to the scalp, face, neck and shoulders to relieve pressure and stress. Find out how massaging different parts of the body with different massage movements can have a beneficial effect on the body and mind. See what different massage media can be used and how to choose the best one for any situation.
Bach Flower Remedies: 6-8pm, Thursday 6 July 2017
In this system of natural healing, Dr Edward Bach discovered that properties of certain plants could be used to correct emotional states. You will explore how the 38 remedies are selected and blended to relieve emotional states which may be impacting on your physical health. You will have the opportunity to make your own blend to take away with you.
Healthy Eating: 6-8pm, Wednesday 19 July 2017
Food is the building block which makes us what we are. Find out how carefully selecting the correct nutrients not only improves the way we look, function and feel but can also treat many ailments. Learn how to distinguish your apha from your omega and only buy the supplements you really need.
Cost: £20 per workshop
This series is part-funded by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council. Participants can attend up to two workshops FREE OF CHARGE. To access this funding, participants will be required to complete Stockton Borough Council's application form (please note, postcode restrictions DO NOT apply) and also a short feedback form following each event.
There is no restriction on the number of workshops individuals can attend, however, the standard fee of £20 per workshop will be applied once the two free sessions have been completed.
The Seven Wellbeing Centre is an ITEC approved training centre.
