Acupuncture

At Seven Wellbeing Centre we can provide first rate acupuncture therapies that can help alleviate a whole range of symptoms and conditions.

What is Acupuncture ?

Acupunture treatment involves placing very fine needles into the skin and soft tissues at special points around the body. These points are found along the meridian or energy pathways first described by the Chinese thousands of years ago, but modern research supports the beneficial effects of acupuncture for many common symptoms.

Acupuncture can be effective in the treatment of many problems including :

  • Back, neck or joint pain and arthritis
  • Stress related problems, insomnia and fatigue
  • Pre menstrual and menopausel symptoms such as flushes, sweats and dysmenorrhoea
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Migraine, tension and cluster type headaches, neuralgia
  • Hay fever, allegic rhinitis, dermititis, eczema and sinus pain.

What happens during a Treatment ?

At your first appointment you will be fully assessed and asked questions about your overall health, the problem you are seeking treatment for and any medications you are currently taking. A treatment plan will be discussed and in most cases a treatment will be given, your response will be assessed to the techniques used and will be adapted to your specific requirements.

All treatments will take place in a private room where you will be positioned comfortably on a couch or chair to allow best access to the parts of the body being needled. Once inserted the needles remain in place for between 10 to 35 minutes. You will only be asked to remove clothing to expose the treatment areas.

Sterile single use needles are used and the number of needles will depend on the problem being treated.

We also offer auricular acupuncture to ease symptoms of menopause and hot fushes in our Hot Flush Clinic. This therapy consists of placing acupuncture needles around the outer ear.  For details of The Hot Flush Clinic please contact us. Arrangments can be made for larger groups of women to be seen outside of the Centre if requested. Please get in touch for more information.

An acupuncture treatment costs £32
