Reiki

Reiki is a gentle and effective therapy that can be safely used alongside other forms of health care.

Central to Reiki is the belief that an energy flow exists within all living things and supports life. This energy or Ki can be directed during Reiki treatment in order to balance the mind, body and spirit.

Reiki has many health promoting benefits which may include;

  • To contribute to pain relief
  • To promote deep relaxation
  • To improve sleep patterns
  • To reduce tension, stress and anxiety
  • To provide emotional and spiritual support
  • To contribute to an overall sense of wellbeing

Reiki is a gentle and effective therapy that can be safely used alongside other forms of health care. It is not however, an alternative to conventional medicine so please always seek your GPs advice

What Happens During Treatment?

A Reiki treatment usually lasts between 3/4 to 1 1/2 hours. You remain fully clothed for the whole of this time and will be seated comfortably in a chair or reclined on a couch and then hands are placed on or over special points around the body.

Anyone can receive Reiki irrespective of beliefs, condition, age or religion and most people find the treatment is a very relaxing experience. Many people describe pleasant feelings of warmth and feel ease from physical discomfort in the body.

Due to the promotion of deep relaxation during a treatment and the profoundly calming effect Reiki can bring, it is a good idea rest afterwards. It is important that you drink plenty of water and do not drive until you feel fully alert after treatment.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Reiki is very safe and side effects are rare however you should be aware that drowsiness can occur during and after treatment so if affected do not drive.

The cost of a Reiki treatment is £30
